Since 1986, “The Most Excellent Way” (MEW) has been providing Christian solutions for chemical dependency and life-controlling problems. We acknowledge the problem, but our focus is on Jesus ... the problem solver
and healer!
"The Most Excellent Way" is a Christ-centered, Bible-honoring, discipleship ministry dedicated to helping people receive and experience new life by faith
in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to WIN people to Christ, DISCIPLE Christians in Christ, MEND Christians with Christ, and SEND people for Christ.
Several ministries have answered the Lord's call to take MEW into prisons through the years:
Jesus said to His disciples:
"But you shall receive power when
the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Acts 1:8 NKJV
Jesus said:
"Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 for I was hungry and you
gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me;
I was in prison and
you came to Me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we
see You hungry and feed You,
or thirsty and give You drink?
38 When did we see You a
stranger and take You in,
or naked and clothe You?
39 Or when did we see You sick,
or in prison, and come to You?'
40 And the King will answer
and say to them,
'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to
one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'"
~Matthew 25:34-40
Pastor Rick McClung of First Baptist Church (Panama City, FL)
and the MEW team have been very effective ministering the
Gospel in local rehabilitation facilities and Florida jails and
prisons. The result has been hundreds of new Christians
seeking support and discipleship from MEW upon release.
After witnessing the changed lives of many inmates, he was encouraged to develop the E5 strategy for Christian inmates to lead one another to Christ.
We hope this strategy will encourage Christ's disciples to share the Gospel, whether within prison walls or outside. The strategy applies to all of us.
E1 ~ EFFECT:
Jesus said: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see
your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
~Matthew 5:16
E2 ~ EARN:
Jesus said: "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men
should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the
prophets." ~Matthew 7:12
E3 ~ ENGAGE:
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture,
and preached unto him Jesus. ~Acts 8:35
E4 ~ EVANGELIZE:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first,
and also to the Greek. ~Romans 1:16
E5 ~ ENROLL:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ~2 Timothy 2:15

"For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived,
serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful
and hating one another.
4 But when the kindness and the
love of God our Savior
toward man appeared,
5not by works of righteousness
which we have done,
but according to His mercy
He saved us, through the washing
of regeneration and renewing
of the Holy Spirit,
6whom He poured out on
us abundantly through
Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 that having been justified by
His grace we should become
heirs according to the
hope of eternal life."
Titus 3:3-7

Jesus said:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
~Matthew 28:19-20
